Backpacker Award

Requirements

1. Earn a longterm backpacking award (5 or more days).
2. Perform 12 hours of GLAAC-HAT approved conservation work applied to earning TrailSaver or ForestSaver awards, in the same calendar year as earning the long term backpacking award.
3. Describe in writing, your most memorable backpacking experience.
4. Describe in writing, your participation in the Trail Saver projects.

Advanced Backpacker Award

Requirements

1. Earn the Backpacker award.
2. Earn a long-term backpacking award (5 or more days) in a year subsequent to receiving the Backpacker award.
3. Perform 12 hours of GLAAC-HAT approved conservation work applied to earning TrailSaver or ForestSaver awards, subsequent to receiving the Backpacker award.
4. Scout recipient: Earn the Hiking, Camping, and Cooking merit badges.
5. Adult recipient: Complete BSA-conducted Adult Leaders Backpack Training.
6. Describe in writing, your most memorable backpacking experience.
7. Describe in writing, your participation in the Trail Saver projects.
