Troop CommitteeAll parents are encouraged to attend the monthly Troop Committee meetings. Attendance ensures your views on troop planning and policies will be considered, and also ensures your acquisition of up-to-the-minute scheduling information. Who We AreThe troop is sponsored by the Rotary International of Manhattan Beach Club. When & WhereThe Troop Committee generally meets at 7:30 pm on the last Thursday of the month. Currently we are meeting via Zoom. Prior to that we have met at private residences or American Martyrs Church, 624 15th Street, Manhattan Beach. All parents are encouraged to come, find out what is going on, and get involved. You can join the Troop Committee by simply joining BSA as an adult volunteer, coming to a few Troop Committee meetings, and indicating your desire to be a member of the committee. It is parent participation that makes Troop 849 go. Find something that you can do and then do it! OperationThe Scoutmaster is responsible for the organization and day-to-day operation of the troop. The Troop Committee's primary responsibilities are supporting the Scoutmaster in delivering a top quality program and handling troop administration. The Troop Committee is governed by Bylaws which can be found here. Typical AgendaThe meeting is broken into two parts. The first part deals with pressing matters.
Then we'll discuss:
